New Recruit Part 6

As Kyu-to slowly awoke she notice Ryuzaki already pouring her a cup of tea. Kyu-to sat up and rubbed her eyes, after awhile it was a deadly silence. She turned to Ryuzaki and asked him sleeply “Where is everyone?”
“Hm? Oh, they went home a few hours after you dozed off.”  He sipped his tea
“Do you know how long I was asleep for?”
“Well not exactly but I can make a good guess.” Ryuzaki thought for a moment and continued “Around 7 hours I’m pretty sure.”
“Oh! I hope I didn’t cause any trouble.”
“It’s no problem. I figured that you weren’t used to the hours of work.”
“Well I guess I better finish the work we had to do last night.”
“Don’t you have breakfast?”
“Yeah but it’s probably to much trouble.”
“Its none at all.” Ryuzaki called Watari and told him the following foods to bring up cake, strawberries and toast.
“What’s with the cake?”
“It’s very nice, you should try it.”
“I might as well.”
Watari came up with the cake, strawberries and toast, Kyu-to and Ryuzaki thanked him and he left. Kyu-to took a bite out the toast, the silence was eating her up she HAD to make conversation.
“So.... when did you become a detective?”  Kyu-to asked in attempt to break the silence
“Well, probably when I was around 12 or so. How about you?”
“Around that but I worked on cases by myself.”
“Hm ...” Ryuzaki continued to eat his slice of cake. Kyu-to had finished her toast and poured Ryuzaki and herself another cup of tea. She placed the cup in front of Ryuzaki, who looked up and said “Want to try some cake?”
“Really?”
“Of course.”
“Um.. ok then sure.”
Ryuzaki handed her a plate with slice of cake and fork, she placed it  in front of her so she could have one last sip of tea. Kyu-to shyly took a small forkful of cake and started to eat it. To her surprise it WAS incredibly good cake, she could now see why he was eating it all the time.
“With your expression, I take it that you like the cake.” Ryuzaki said
“Is it that obvious?”
“Pretty much.”
  Ryuzaki’s computer bleeped and Watari’s voice projected through the computer speakers. ”Ryuzaki, the others are coming up.”
“Thank you Watari.” He place he laptop screen down and collected the cups and plates.
Kyu-to couldn’t let him clear away all of the plates and said “Are sure I can’t help at all?”
“Your a guest, I couldn’t let a guest clear things away.” Ryuzaki walked away
Kyu-to got up and stretched. As Ryuzaki was walking out from where he had put the plates and cups away he heard what seemed like Kyu-to singing. He walked in to find her slowly turning in a circle whilst singing the oddest thing. Certainly not something he’d heard.
Kira, you think you’ve done right. But you’re truly wrong. Nothing you can say will ever erase the pain you’ve caused. Killing those who would hurt a soul. Killing the innocent, praising the wicked. You’re the Satan of Earth the man that was reborn to do the real devil’s bidding. What do you think you’ll achieve?
Kyu-to suddenly stopped when she saw Ryuzaki starting at her. Her face went a bring shade of red, him hearing her sing was probably one of the things that embarrassed her the most.
“I didn’t know you could sing?” Ryuzaki said slight confusion in his tone
“Practically no one does, not even my closest friends.”
Ryuzaki heard a loud knock “Come in.” His immediate response.
It was Mr. Yagami and the others, there was now more work to be done.
